Knights of Columbus – Helping Local Charities

Many hands certainly do make for light work. With a small army of volunteers the St Mary of the People Parish Crèche came down in perhaps record time. The volunteers assembled at 9 am sharp and by 9:34 it was all packed away – leaving plenty of time for coffee, treats and loads of laughter….

Lent is just around the corner and that means its time for pancakes, pancakes and more pancakes! The parishioners of St Mary of the People Parish were certainly in the mood for some fluffy flapjacks with around 180 people crowding the hall over the course of two sittings. Each year Knight’s of Columbus Council 8611 honours the passing of fellow Knights with a special Memorial Night. This year’s ceremony was particularly touching. Over the past few weeks several of our brother Knights made the rounds in the Durham Region, delivering some donations.
