Better late than never… and it almost didn’t happen at all. This year’s annual St Valentine’s Dinner and Dance took place just the day after the 14th. And nothing could stop the festivities… even though Mother Nature certainly tried. Thank you to all the councils who participated in this event and to the many volunteers…
After a several year hiatus, St Mary’s Knights of Columbus council 8611 brought back the annual KofC Basketball Free Throw competition. Thanks to the amazing support of Paul Mac Kinnon, Vice-Principal of St. Christopher Catholic School and the teachers at the school, the Free Throw Championship was held this past Tuesday, February 11th. Over the past few weeks several of our brother Knights made the rounds in the Durham Region, delivering some donations during the important Christmas season. Included among them was a cheque for $1,000 for the YWCA and $2,000 for Durham Outlook for the Needy. Special thanks to the Bingo team for helping raise these funds…
As the saying goes: what goes up, must come down. The Knights of St Mary’s (along with some parish volunteers) made short work of disassembling the Christmas Creche. In fact, it might have been yet another record time… not taking much more than 30 to 45 minutes. That of course left more time for cookies…
