One of the great ways Council 8611 gives back to the Durham Region is through supporting numerous charities with much-needed financial assistance.
Recently Grand Knight Ken Young, Recorder Garry King and our own “Mr. Bingo” Don Walmsley made the rounds, delivering a cheque for $2,000 to Catholic Family Services, another $2,000 cheque to Rose of Durham a $1,000 cheque to Sunrise Youth Group and a $2,000 cheque to Durham Outlook for the Needy.
Over the past few weeks several of our brother Knights made the rounds in the Durham Region, delivering some donations. Included among them was a cheque for $2,000 for the Grandview Children’s Foundation as well as $1,000 for the YWCA. The team at Grandview sent us a few of their photos as well! Stay tuned…

Lent is just around the corner and that means its time for pancakes, pancakes and more pancakes! The parishioners of St Mary of the People Parish were certainly in the mood for some fluffy flapjacks with around 180 people crowding the hall over the course of two sittings.
